A short film about a man striving for happiness. Leif (pictured below) is only interested in relaxation and he'll go to any length to achieve it. In his pursuit of leisure he meets an untimely demise. But even in death he can't find peace...
I have been working on this film in collaboration with others since late 2006. However, with the exception of Mancandy (in the storyboards), everything on this page was designed and created by me.
These drawings will eventually be re-created in 3D and rigged for animation. Leif was drawn in Inkscape; Death and Sisyphus in The GIMP.
These next images were created mid-way through pre-production to refine the style of the film, and to aid planning of shots. The models lack textures but most will be used in the final composition. These were made for scenes for which the script is nearly finalised.
Most of the models above are polygonal meshes, sub-surfaced as appropriate. The pipes are extruded curves with the exception of the heavy flexible tube: it is modelled as a single segment repeated and bent along a curve with modifiers. All were created in Blender.
These are samples of the storyboards from the first scene. They were created in The GIMP and Blender using Bassam Kurdali's Mancandy as a digital maquette.
