Cargo: Adventure game (WIP) (2002, 2008)

A game about a snail. I developed some mechanics for this game in 2002. While fun to play, it lacked a story so I put development on hold. Now, six years later, I intend to re-create Cargo as an adventure game with updated graphics.

The following is a turntable animation of a concept model for a new version of Cargo. It was modelled and textured over two days in Autodesk 3ds Max. The textures were painted in The GIMP.

The snail can crawl on any surface or zip into its shell to roll around. The next image shows Cargo racing around a complex 3D surface in the original game.

The game was developed in Blender, utilising the in-built game engine. The snail was animated with an armature. Its motions were bound to user input with the game engine's logic bricks and Python.
