Oh no! Where’s my voice??? I’m getting my winter’s worth of sickness in before we leave. Now I’ve lost my voice which makes teaching interesting! haha….oh dear…

We went again to Arashiyama today to check out the Autumn leaves (momiji). It’s a spectacular spot to view them on the mountainsides and up close. The pictures speak for themselves!

Getting real close to leaving time now. Just over 3 weeks. We have this whole apartment full of stuff and weren’t having much luck selling it through the web. Our other dilemma was the copious amounts of alcohol we had, and we don’t drink so much at home. So we threw a garage sale party, including free booze! Wooo! This is pure genius if I do say so myself. We sent the message out to our friends and colleagues and had about 15 people through during the day. One guy came in, poured himself a glass of wine, then proceeded to buy our bed, sofa, coffee table, bookshelf, kitchen table, chairs, microwave, toaster oven and the shelving unit they live on. Yay! We sold so much stuff, so now the biggest things we have to deal with are our fridge and airconditioners, but I’m sure a recycle shop will take them if it gets to that. See you soon!

We were at the Australian Consulate yesterday casting our vote in the election when a fellow Aussie came in and the following exchange took place:

Consulate guy: G’day mate. You here to vote?

Other guy: Yeah mate.

Ahhh…Australia…see you in a month mates!

Today I was making a cup of tea and found that my teabag had been sabotaged! Check out that clean cut! Someone wanted me to lose my teabag in the cup….Yes, it’s a slow news day
