I met Jodie on the last train after my Lord of the Rings marathon at Audrey’s place in Juso. She’d been out at an all-you-can-drink karaoke joint with Chris and Julie. She had called me on a drunken impulse just as the credits of the last movie started to roll. Most fortunate.

There were lots of policemen around the station back in Ibaraki. Not sure what their purpose was, but a few times we saw one particular cop chasing a suspect (civilian), both giggling like little girls. It was lovely to see them taking such pleasure in their respective roles. I bet they’re both blogging about it right now.

Last week we were visited by Ash (who was previously unknown to me). Together we went to Tenjin Matsuri, one of the largest festivals in Japan. The whole thing was very visual, so here are some photos! It was hot and noisy too. You’ll just have to imagine that.
